A general fast like this is safe for most people, however we would not recommend you do it if:
You have an eating disorder
You are getting over an illness
If you are pregnant, breast feeding or are on medication for type 2 diabetes, then we would recommend a partial fast in consultation with your doctor. It can still help you reset your relationship with sugar and help you become more sugar aware.
Lastly, this 40-Day Sugar Fast is not for you if you're not committed to improving your health and wellbeing through dietary and lifestyle changes.
I can't do a total sugar fast for health reasons. Is there an alternative?
Absolutely! The ultimate aim of the 40-Day Sugar Fast is to help you become more sugar aware.
You can therefore still achieve this by doing a partial fast and sticking within the World Health Organisation guidelines of having no more than 25g of added sugar a day. The average Brit consumes up to 100g a day, so this can still make a difference! During the 40 days you will learn everything you need to help you stay on track. It would be great to have you join us!
